The address is one input among several. TikTok — like every platform with real fraud scoring — looks at who owns the IP block, whether the location it implies is consistent with everything else about you, and whether it changes in ways a real person’s connection would not. A datacentre address fails the first test immediately: the block is registered to a hosting company, and almost nobody watches short videos from a rack. That is not a rule you can argue with; it is a prior the system starts from.
A residential address removes that prior. The block is registered to a consumer broadband carrier, so the registration itself says nothing unusual. A dual-ISP address goes one step further: the same range is registered with two carriers, so a lookup returns a consumer answer from either source — which is why it is the arrangement most often recommended for cross-border commerce accounts. Neither makes you invisible; both remove one common reason to be flagged.
The second thing that matters is staying still. An address that rotates mid-session, or a location that jumps between countries between logins, looks stranger than a datacentre address that never moves. This is the practical argument for a dedicated ISP server over a rotating residential proxy for this particular job: you want one address, in one place, for as long as the account exists. A native IP — one whose registration country matches where the server actually sits — matters for the same reason.
Verify before you pay, and use the refund window rather than the complaints inbox. Ask for a test IP and check three things: which carrier announces it, whether the registration country matches the server location, and whether it appears on public blocklists. All three take a minute with any IP checker. A provider unwilling to give you a test address before payment has told you something worth knowing.
One thing this page will not do is tell you how to get around a platform’s rules. Whether a given setup is allowed is between you and TikTok’s terms, and it differs by market and account type. What is on this page is what the hardware is and how to check it — the rest is your call, and worth reading the terms for.
